The same 12 business messages take 1.25× on OpenAI GPT-6, 1.89× on Claude 5.x, 1.31× on Gemini 3.x, 1.27× on Gemini 4 Argon as many tokens in Arabic as in English (official token counters, 4 November 2026), so they cost that many times as much. OpenAI GPT-6 uses the fewest tokens for Arabic, Claude 5.x the most. Cheapest listed model for 100,000 messages and replies a month: GPT-6 Luna at $1.73, against $1.38 in English on the same model (list prices checked 2 November 2026).

How can I reduce LLM costs for Arabic users?
Compare model families, because Claude 5.x counts the most tokens for Arabic. Keep system prompts and tool definitions in English, cache the fixed part of the prompt, and at high volume consider a small model with a tokenizer trained for your language.
